Politics Done Right Washington DC Micro Live Studio
I will be airing my media/radio show Politics Done Right for the foreseeable future out of Washington DC. I must care for my daughter after her 2nd stroke in 20 months, as I mentioned in the last “Egberto Off The Record” Newsletter.
While caring for my daughter, I will continue airing Politics Done Right, our progressive news program & fact-based program intent on removing the corporate lies & spin from the news. I (we) believe in respectful dialogue with everyone irrespective of ideology without compromising my (our) progressive values.
In order to best care for my daughter, I will move into her DC apartment. I will continue our small part in keeping the progressive movement at the forefront. I am setting up a Mobile-Micro-Studio to work from a corner of her small apartment. I intend to keep our professional video production, radio/media shows, social media seeding with fact-based progressive content, blogging as I care for my beautiful daughter.
Will you support the equipment for Politics Done Right in DC via this GoFundMe? We will list you as a supporter for this specific micro-studio on our website unless you object. You will also get online access to my four books and subsequent ones (send me the login email you want to use).
Al Franken on Republicans: We have to be as ruthless. We have to be stone-cold killers.
Al Franken wants Democrats to get as tough as Republicans and describe the infrastructure bill for what it does.
Al Franken appeared on the Eleventh Hour with Brian Williams where he had several prescient statements that Democrats should heed. He first pointed out the reality that Mitch McConnell has filibustered more than any other combined for the last several decades.
"I have confidence that we will step in there," Al Franken said. "And Mitch will do exactly what he says. But we have to start being as ruthless as him. For example, the Freedom to Vote Act which was negotiated by Amy Klobuchar and Joe Manchin and others is a great bill but we need to pass it."
Brian Williams asserted that Democrats usually go to a fight ill-armed. Franken had an answer for that too.
"Well, we have to stop it," Franken said. "We have to be stone-cold killers on the voting rights. This is an existential threat to our democracy. We lose our democracy. It's we lose everything. So we have to pass this bill and you can carve out and say, for you know elections, this is our democracy. We can carve that out and pass it with 51 votes or you can do what I'm talking about which would restore the filibuster to what it was which was something that was rare when a minority cared about something."
But most importantly, Franken made an important statement about marketing the human infrastructure bill.
"There are so many great things in this package," Al Franken said. "There's Medicare negotiating for pharmaceuticals. We pay three times as much for the same pharmaceuticals as Europe. And that's because the biggest purchaser of pharmaceuticals in our country can't negotiate. All their governments negotiate. That's ridiculous. The child tax credit, reduced childhood poverty by half, the biggest middle-class working-class tax cut, the lowest income tax cut in the history of the country. People like the elements. We got to start talking about what the elements are, not called the reconciliation package."
Enough said.

Tim Danahey discusses the need for the wealth tax. Linda Curtis, co-founder of the League of Independent Voters is building a new political coalition.
Topics in this program
Katie Porter points out these are Biden’s Bills. Progressive, be clear: TWO BILLS or NO BILLS. Rep. Katie Porter never disappoints as she explains the infrastructure bills. This is not the time for Progressives to cave to failure.
Tim Danahey: A real wealth tax, a simple alternative to the income tax that most will love. Radio Host Tim Danahey sent me a note that gave me pause. If we could make sure all Americans understand this, we could force the hands of politicians on the wealth tax.
Linda Curtis, Co-Founder of LIV, wants a new coalition to force political change. Linda Curtis, Co-Founder of “League of Independent Voters of Texas,” discusses the need for all Americans to come together beyond political parties to affect change.

Markel Hutchins is the CEO of Movement Forward. “We’ve done the marching, we’ve done the protesting and now it’s time to do the heavy lifting of decreasing bias, increasing respect and trust, protecting the lives of young men and women, but protecting the lives of our law enforcement professionals as well.”
Law enforcement agencies and groups from 45 states are on a mission to change the way the community sees them. “National Faith & Blue” is set to facilitate more unified communities (connecting officers and residents.)
At the heart of this initiative is the reinforcement of connections between law enforcement professionals and the communities they serve through the reach of houses of worship. There is no resource that can match the depth of the faith community in facilitating a productive engagement with law enforcement, which is needed now more than ever.
Visit faithandblue.org for the national Faith and Blue event throughout the United States scheduled between October 8th and 11th.
This MNSBC Host, Tiffany Cross dissed Stephanie Grisham’s Trump tell-all book. Failing up.
Many ex-Trump officials are now capitalizing on their infamy with purportedly tell-all books. Tiffany Cross will have none of it.
Tiffany Cross did not mince her words as she dissed Stephanie Grisham's new book.
"If you're at home and pay any attention to the echo chambers of cable news this week," Cross said. "You've likely seen a segment or two or 50 about former White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham. She's filling all the tea in her new book. ... Let's remember that Grisham has been riding the Trump campaign since 2015 and boldly stood with him through it all. We remember and have the receipts. The racism, the misogyny, the xenophobia, the white supremacy, the Access Hollywood tape, the family separation policy that tore young children away from their parents, the family grift, and the erosion of our country, and after all that, there are still some in the press who will no doubt offer her free book promotion and salivate at the chance to interview her as she seeks to gain relevance and money at the expense of our former co-conspirators. And this is the way it has gone for many former Trump appointees. They get to fail up writing mediocrity to the highest levels of government, hack away at the diverse foundation of America, and walk away from all the rubble only to be ... met with sweet cable news contracts, lucrative book deals, softball interviews, and zero accountability."
"Grisham has two traffic arrests, including pleading guilty to a DUI," Tiffany Cross said. "And she lost two previous jobs amid alleged charges of plagiarism and cheating on expenses. ... She was embroiled in scandal and arrested twice, and still landed a high-profile position in the White House. Yet black and brown people are still subjected to a very punishing criminal justice system, and those among us who have records can't get a job anywhere while the privileged and incompetent gets a laugh at our tears all the way to the bank."
I must admit that I enjoyed this short segment.
