Dennis Kucinich, the ethical politician. Proof: Billionaires = Parasites. Empowering us all!
Several of these stories may seem unbearable, but the reality is that there is a light at the end of the tunnel that we can choose to move towards. Let's get there.
In this Issue:
A very engaging Dennis Kucinich on The Division of Light and Power. Ethics in politics is his signature.
PROOF: Super rich people are not the makers but the parasites of our society.

A very engaging Dennis Kucinich on The Division of Light and Power
I really enjoyed interviewing Dennis Kucinich. He maintains that integrity that many politicians fail to aspire to throughout their political careers.
Dennis Kucinich is an author and statesman, serving 16 years in the US Congress and twice as a president. During his term as Cleveland Mayor (1977-1979), the Fraternal Order of Eagles recognized him as “The Outstanding Public Official in America.” In recent years the Washington Post Magazine called Kucinich “the future of American politics.” “Ahead of his time,” declared Rolling Stone Magazine. Gore Vidal called Kucinich’s writing “as good as Theodore Dreiser’s.” Ralph Nader favorably compares Kucinich’s writing with the legendary muckraking journalist Lincoln Steffens.
The Division of Light and Power melds Kucinich’s writing excellence with undisputable documentary power and the moral code that cannot be corrupted. Kucinich was not shy about discussing ethics in our political system. We also have a bonus clip for our YouTube Member Subscribers, where he discusses the idiocy of the independent Texas grid managed by ERCOT.
Taking on the Corporate/Government Complex is not for the timid. It takes toughness, tenacity, and an undisputed moral compass. At a time when public faith in government and public officials has collapsed comes the story of one strong and fearless leader of a mayor who took on City Hall to protect the people.
In the book, former Cleveland Mayor Dennis J. Kucinich (1977 – 1979) gives an unprecedented, fully documented insider’s account of his battle against a shadow city government engaged in corporate espionage, sabotage, price-fixing, cut-throat competition, anti-trust activities, organized crime, and wholesale fraud. That is, until Kucinich, then America’s youngest big-city mayor at age 31, fought back, risking assassination attempts and the destruction of his personal life.
One of America’s largest banks threatened to upend the city financially unless the new Mayor Kucinich agreed to sell the city’s publicly owned electric system, Muny Light, to the bank’s utility business partner, handing them a monopoly raise electric rates to the sky. The “powers that be” subverted the media. They tried to buy Kucinich, and when they discovered he could not be bought, they tried to kill him.
In April 2018, in a cover story in the Washington Post Magazine, Kucinich was described as “the future of American politics.” The Division of Light and Power establishes integrity as the North Star future for everyone in public life. It also marks its author as a highly skilled writer of top rank.
My books and/or your subscriptions allow us to keep telling the progressive narrative in a form in which the mainstream media cannot because they are funded by those they must somewhat appease. To effect change, people must be respected and informed truthfully & civilly.
PROOF: Super rich people are not the makers but the parasites of our society.
They have self-defined as the makers. So they enrich themselves on what we make, our work, worth, and service like parasites. And here's proof.
The title of the article was simple enough and to the fact. Unfortunately, that is too antiseptic. In fact, the title should have made it clear we are talking about parasites. ProPublica's article "The Secret IRS Files: Trove of Never-Before-Seen Records Reveal How the Wealthiest Avoid Income Tax" is a must-read.
In 2007, Jeff Bezos, then a multibillionaire and now the world’s richest man, did not pay a penny in federal income taxes. He achieved the feat again in 2011. In 2018, Tesla founder Elon Musk, the second-richest person in the world, also paid no federal income taxes.
Michael Bloomberg managed to do the same in recent years. Billionaire investor Carl Icahn did it twice. George Soros paid no federal income tax three years in a row.
ProPublica has obtained a vast trove of Internal Revenue Service data on the tax returns of thousands of the nation’s wealthiest people, covering more than 15 years. The data provides an unprecedented look inside the financial lives of America’s titans, including Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, Rupert Murdoch and Mark Zuckerberg. It shows not just their income and taxes, but also their investments, stock trades, gambling winnings and even the results of audits.
Taken together, it demolishes the cornerstone myth of the American tax system: that everyone pays their fair share and the richest Americans pay the most. The IRS records show that the wealthiest can — perfectly legally — pay income taxes that are only a tiny fraction of the hundreds of millions, if not billions, their fortunes grow each year.
These super-rich people take more out of society than they put in. Their wealth is based on our work, service, and intellect. And the protection of their wealth is protected by the blood of the average citizen.
American Ethical Union 106th Annual Assembly keynoted by Egberto Willies (Empowering Us All …)
The American Ethical Union held its 106th Assembly on June 9th, 2021, under the theme “Addressing The Whole Truth About America.” Politics Done Right's Egberto Willies was the keynote speaker. Egberto's keynote speech title was “Empowering Us All Makes Our Demands Undeniable & Attainable.”
Is America all that it should be? All that it could be? Is America living up to its aspirations?
From the program:
Throughout our history, systemic racism, white nationalism, and economic inequality are woven into the fabric of American society. A failed political system and Climate Crisis denial prevent American leadership from building a sustainable future that includes everyone.
How can we move toward the justice, healing, and reconciliation that we all long for? A search for truth can serve as a beginning for understanding how we, as humans, receive and process information, how we cast aside old knowledge for a new appreciation of relationships, how we can look forward to the future with new ways of sharing and caring for each other in a finite world. With a renewed awareness of the truth about America, we can find an opportunity for change and transformation to realize the human worth and dignity of everyone. A greater understanding of the problems we face can offer us greater opportunities for collaboration, for becoming more effective allies, and for co-creating a better future for all.
I really enjoyed speaking to the AEU. They represent all the values that I am fighting for now.
