"Policies like a federal job guarantee, as advocated by economists at the Levy Economics Institute, or universal healthcare systems supported by research from the Kaiser Family Foundation, offer concrete pathways to rebalance the system. These are not radical ideas; they are necessary corrections."

In addition to the above, we must cut the defense budget by at least half, in my opinion.

I am reading "Goliath's Curse," by Luke Kemp. Goliaths are what Kemp calls civilizations. One of the things that occurs before a collapse is diminishing returns from extraction. Think about it. The debt spiral occurs when you borrow to pay the interest on your debt. Just like borrowing from one credit card to pay minimal balances on other credit cards, there will be a limit. There is a limit to how long the U.S. can keep going before a collapse.
