I am sure we will win, this time, but ...
I am 90% sure of the election of VP Kamala Harris and a Democratic House on Nov. 5th if the voting patterns continue. The mainstream media's complicity in false equivalences & balance skew elections.
First of all, to win, you must vote. So, if you have yet to vote, make sure to vote. Most importantly, vote in your interest, not a false ideology one thinks they must be wedded to.
Second, remember that voting is between you, the machine, and your spiritual god. Your husband, wife, children, family, friends, and acquaintances cannot know your vote. So, again, vote your interest.
Let me first ease the minds of those who know that America has one choice, VP Kamala Harris if we are to maintain our democracy as we know it. Both nationally and in swing states, women are voting in much higher numbers than men. Also, the gender gap for women supporting Harris is larger than that for men supporting Trump. Simple arithmetic says that a larger percentage time a much larger number is much more than a smaller percentage time a smaller number. Let me give you a representative example.
If the voting pool is 1000 people with 54%/46% split between women and men, then there are 540 women for every 460 men. WP's average female gender gap is 11 points (55.5 Harris vs 44.5 Trump). The male gender gap is 10 points (45% Harris vs 55% male).
Harris votes = (.555 X 540 women) + (.445 X 460 men) = 504
Trump votes = (.45 X 540 women) + (.55 X 460 men) = 496
And many believe the gender gap is much larger. There is a quiet women’s vote in conservative areas who are tired of ceding their bodies to men.
Now that I hope to have eased your mind, we must understand why our mainstream media reporting has left us uninformed and misinformed. I do two programs every weekday. I host Politics Done Right on KPFT 90.1 FM Houston every morning at 6 PM Central and stream a new one at 3:00 PM Central. I interact with the audience both by phone and real-time chat. I use a lot of clips from cable news segments and expand on them. Why? Because they cannot always provide the full context.
I have been sickened as all the networks try to parrot the same untrue or misleading narrative. For examples:
They constantly claim Harris has not said what she would do as president when the reality is she articulates her plans in every speech and makes them clear on her website. Trump is rarely challenged on this issue.
They would have one believe that a slight decline in Harris’ black male support would be instrumental in a loss when the reality is that Trump’s policies are fatal to women. Highlighting that a tiny nudge towards Harris by white women would be much more effective.
Ignoring Trump’s physical and mental stumbles while highlighting Biden’s.
Not defining how tariffs actually work when interviewing Trump and other Republicans.
Highlighting the greatness of the Trump economy was never real and the numbers that prove it are accessible to all.
Highlighting that the Trump deficits will cripple healthcare and Social Security.
I could go on and on. The mainstream media is a he-said/she-said dereliction of duty.
There are various reasons for the mainstream media's failure. Two are nefarious. Jeff Bezos, owner of the Washington Post, and Patrick Soon-Shiong, owner of the LA Times, both canned their Editorials' Kamala Harris Endorsements. They were hedging their bets in case Trump won. There are incestuous relationships between billionaires and our government.
Corporations fund mainstream media, covering everything from pharmaceuticals to chemicals to oil to farming. As such, they are careful in their standard and investigative reporting. However, they can never put us, the people, first.`However, independent journalists are doing more to inform as they do less.
I am proud that my Politics Done Right program, my articles, blogs, and videos have informed many and even changed the lives of many. A Right-Wing Obamacare-hating Republican became a supporter after learning that her disabled son could get healthcare in her state. A caller appealed her case to her mom’s Medicare Advantage provider after we gave her some tips and got her mother the healthcare she needed. She was thrown into Medicare Advantage without her permission. I get emails constantly from readers and listeners who thank me for informing them about issues they were surprised they did not know about. They often say, “Why don’t we all know that?”
Those of us in the independent media are free to inform because we are funded by no one else but you. It is neither easy nor profitable, But it is extremely rewarding if one believes, like me, in altruism. That said, we do need you to support us. That is the only way the job gets done. I currently work 14 to 16 hours a day, 7 days a week, and need to get our paid subscription to a level where part-time help is possible. We are still cash flow negative even as the need for this type of service is existential for our Democracy.
Please become a paid subscriber today. It is less than the price of a coffee. In addition to ensuring all our brothers and sisters are informed, you get access to all of my current and future books free of charge. Of course, we will have periodic perks for our paid subscribers. So please, make a difference today. You will not regret it!
